Organizations with fleets of vehicles that are not required to comply with CDL regulations often struggle with high insurance rates, unacceptable loss ratios, increased liability, and worker’s compensation costs for their drivers. Drivers of FMCSA Class 1 through 6 vehicles don’t require a commercial driver’s license. Other than a valid operator’s license and minimum liability insurance, there are no State or Federal regulations to dictate safety compliance. Statistics reveal that delivery truck drivers and driver/sales workers represent 20% of all work fatalities.
