This course will help attendees to understand how the body reacts to the use of opioids and other substances that cause impairment. Once we gain a better knowledge of how a person’s body reacts, we will discuss the most common substances being used and signs and symptoms of the substances causing impairment. We will also learn the appropriate way to care for a patient experiencing these emergencies. The instructor will discuss resources within the county that can be used after the emergency has ended to assist in recovery.
