Overview

Prerequisite:  OSHA requires each course participant have completed a weeklong training in OSHA Construction (OSHA 30 hour) and 5 years experience prior to this course.  

The focus of this course is on how to teach OSHA policies, procedures, and standards for the construction industry as well as safety and health principles.  Course materials include a copy of the latest OSHA Standards 29 CFR Part 1926 and extensive reference materials. Prior knowledge of OSHA regulations is necessary. The course will include training techniques and practice teaching sessions.

Successful completion of the course earns U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Institute (Federal OSHA) certificate.  This authorizes participants to conduct 10- and 30-hour voluntary compliance courses and issue OSHA course completion cards.  Students also receive 30 hours credit toward the Manager of Environmental Safety and Health Certificate (MESH), certificate of completion from the Safety and Health Council of North Carolina, and 2.5 CEUs.
