US Department of Transportation regulations mandate training for any employee involved in any manner in the shipping, transportation, or receiving of hazardous materials.  New haz mat employees must be trained within 90 days and all employees must be retrained every three years.  This session focuses on the essential knowledge shippers, receivers and line employees need for compliance.   Topical modules include:  General Awareness, Identification of Hazardous Materials, Shipper’s Function, and Safety.  Students receive a North American Emergency Response Guidebook, Chart 10 Placard and Label Guide, Student Workbook, course handouts and certification of training from the Safety and Health Council of North Carolina.
