Overview

This 2-day course will train you to work with the largest group of at-risk drivers using materials and topics they identify with. DDC-Alive at 25 is designed specifically for drivers aged 16-24.  The program can be used to complement a standard driver education course or provide new direction for young drivers that incur traffic violations.

This course is for driving school instructors, high school driver education teachers, state, county, and local police, public information officers, court trainers, driving schools working with newly licensed drivers or teen violators, and anyone who works with young drivers.

Topics covered in the instructor course include:

  • How to get students involved in group discussions
  • How to use course materials
  • Administrative responsibilities
  • Young adult learning needs
  • Developing effective teaching skills
  • Why young drivers underestimate risk
  • Techniques to maintain control in driving situations
  • How to handle peer pressure
  • How to stay "cool" with friends
  • Top six violations of these drivers and how to overcome them
  • Updated drug information
  • Speed and stopping distances
  • Fatigue and what it causes
  • Work zone driving rules
  • Special considerations for special vehicles
  • And much more

Because the DDC courses are nationally standardized, any organization wishing to conduct training must be approved and registered with the National Safety Council.  Training materials must be purchased and audio visual materials must be leased to maintain Training Agency stature.
