Overview

The National Safety Council and Top Driver/FLI Learning Systems are working together to offer the best-selling Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) Courses.

This seminar prepares participants to teach this exciting new program. Ambulance operators will learn practical defensive driving techniques – focusing on the operator’s ability to read traffic conditions, act accordingly, and prevent collisions in both emergency and non-emergency situations.  Now completely updated with valuable input from participants, instructors, and loss prevention professionals!

Topics include:

  • Adverse weather conditions
  • Blind spots and cushion of safety
  • Intersections, passing, and lane changes
  • Safe backing and parking
  • Scanning and traffic hazard identification
  • Vehicle handling, design, and inspection

Participants receive a complete Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator II: AMBULANCE Instructor’s Kit, a day’s training, and lunch for one registration fee of $325 for members and $425 non-members.   Additional attendees from the same location can attend and receive their own leader’s guide, (but not instructor’s kit) for only $100.

The Instructor Kit includes:

  • Fully-scripted Instructor Guide
  • Video Presentation on DVD or VHS
  • Group Discussion Diagrams to reinforce key coaching points(provided on the DVD or in PowerPoint on a CD-ROM)
  • Reproducible Observational Checklist

Ambulance Trainee Kit includes:

  • Driver Response Book
  • Computer-scored final exam*
  • Driver recognition patch*

* Final participant tests are scored at Coaching Systems. Those who score 80% or better receive a recognition patch and course completion certificate from the National Safety Council.
