For hazard assessment in the workplace, the strongest weapon in controlling and removing workplace hazards is for all associates to recognize them. Course will review types of hazards (physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic), hazard recognition, associate training concepts and control strategies relating to general industry and construction, including but not limited to:

  • General Office
  • Fire and Emergency
  • Heavy Equipment
  • Electrical (low and high voltage)
  • Physical Hazards
  • Material Handling
  • Lockout/Tagout
  • Compressed Gases
  • Chemical Handling and Exposure
  • Ergonomic Hazards
  • Vehicle Safety
  • Slip, Trip, and Fall Protection
  • Hot Work
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Confined Spaces

 

Classes will be limited to 50 people and consist of:

Approximately 3.0 hours of classroom, including hazard recognition photos

Approximately 1.0 hour of site hazard recognition (teams conduct hazard assessment of assigned areas)

Approximately 1.0 hour for team site hazard information review
