His experience includes 21 years with a facility maintenance company as site safety manager handling: workers comp, FMLA, and training and accident investigation. He attended Campbell University and Guilford Technical Institute. Mack holds the Manager of Environmental Safety and Health certificate (MESH), OSHA Outreach Trainer in general industry, NSC lift truck operator, and NSC flagger instructor.

Kathy holds certification as a Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE), Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities (ARM-P), and was a certified EMT for 8 years. Public sector work includes university, military, and municipal settings. She holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management and a MS from North Carolina State University in Natural Resources.

As Training Supervisor Marcy oversees the administration of safety and health training and outreach programs for the public and the NC OSH staff.  Marcy has a diverse background as a leader and an instructor, which includes sixteen years of experience in the design, development and delivery of safety and health training programs, as well as six years of experience providing instruction in the field of adult learning. Marcy has completed the Toastmasters Competent Communicator and Leadership Series, is a NC Certified Training Specialist, a Certified Mediation Specialist with the Office of State Human Resources, and is an instructor for the state’s “Leading at All Levels Supervisory Foundations” course. Marcy graduated from the State University of New York - Plattsburgh in 1996 with a B.S. in environmental science and a minor in chemistry.

Lt. Harris has over 25 years in law enforcement with the Wayne County Sheriff's office. Detective Harris has received many hours of training through Federal and State programs in many different areas of his profession over his career. He is a certified Fire Investigator (CFI) and is the lead fire investigator for the Sheriff's office. Shawn is assigned to the Major Crimes Unit and the FBI JTTF (Joint Terrorism Task Force) through the US Marshals Service. Lt. Harris teaches Rapid Response (Active Shooter), Fire Arson Investigations, Bombs and Explosives Response, and Haz-Mat through Wayne Community College. He is certified on Cellebrite (Cellular Phone Analysis) and certified with Avid/Dtective forensic video analysis system.
