Affiliated Organizations
National Safety Council (NSC)
Founded as a non-profit safety education association in 1913, the National Safety Council now has 6 offices and 32 accredited, independent Chapters across the United States. The Safety and Health Council of North Carolina has earned accreditation as an NSC Chapter since 1960.
North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL)
NCDOL is the state agency responsible for the regulation of worker safety in North Carolina. NCDOL is a partner with the Council in the popular Manager of Environmental Safety and Health (MESH) program.
NC State University (NCSU)
NCSU is the academic institution that is partnered with the Council and the NC Labor Department in providing the MESH program.
NC Industrial Commission (NCIC)
This state agency administers the worker’s compensation program in NC and has an extensive safety education and training department. NCIC sponsors the annual May Statewide Safety Conference in Greensboro.
North Carolina Department of Community Colleges (DCC)
There are 58 educational institutions that offer a variety of training programs to the communities they serve. 35 of these colleges offer the Council’s Defensive Driving Courses. Many colleges offer our occupational safety and health training programs at their campuses.
Enviro-Equipment Inc.
Headquartered in Charlotte, EEI rents and sells environmental equipment and products for detection of air, water, and soil contamination. EEI has generously donated the use of environmental equipment for the Council’s safety training and education.
Southeast Industrial Equipment Company
SIE offers a comprehensive line of material handling products and services. SIE has generously donated the use of forklifts and other equipment for the Council’s use in safety training and education.
Sunbelt Rentals
This is a national equipment rental company that has generously donated the use of forklifts and other equipment for the Council’s use in safety training and education.
Operation HomeFront
This non-profit organization helps support our troops and the families they leave behind through a variety of services.
B.R.A.K.E.S.
This non-profit organization joins the Council in promoting safe teen driving primarily through behind-the-wheel driving events.
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)
NCMEC offers the educational program known as Prevention Works to corporations across the country as a free public service. The compelling, one-hour presentation takes a positive approach to child safety education, to help parents, guardians, and concerned adults learn better ways to prevent child abduction and sexual exploitation.
